The Garden's Change.

Teach me to number my days
And count every moment before it slips away;
Taking all the colours before they fade to gray,
I don't want to miss even just a second more of this.

today, i decided to take some shots of my mom's 'garden' [box]. i know i took some pictures of the flowers a while back in May, but the box has completely changed in regards to the various colours and kinds of flowers it holds. i even got some pictures of the bees hunting around for nectar :).

there were also some white moths fluttering around.

:) our cherry tomatoes have begun to grow and redden!

The Giant Bug.

ohkay, this is barely a post at all, but i just wanted to write down all the things i saw at Edwards Garden today - just to remember to take photos of them when i go back [since i didn't bring my camera along with me today :(]. i cannot believe i haven't been there before yet, seeing that it's just at Leslie and Lawrence. anyways, some friends brought me there today and there were quite a few things that were interesting to note.

first off, Edwards Garden is a botanical garden with innumerable trails all throughout the area. it's actually quite peaceful there - you can't hear the cars go by or anything, so if you just feel like jogging around or having some quiet time, it's a great place to be. we saw a few animals this time around - ducks, chipmunks [which run extremely fast], and what appeared to be a small-beaver-without-a-tail [the same animal that ruins the flowers in my mom's garden! i'm thinking maybe it's a groundhog? :\] we also saw tons of different insects - from a daddy-long-legs that was externally digesting an ant it recently caught (:|), to a purple inchworm (dangerous? perhaps. not likely. but i've never seen a purple one before), to one GIANT and i mean GIGANTIC dragonfly! omg we seriously thought it was a fake model they stuck onto the plant! it was way too saturated in colour, the eyes were so big and translucent, and it didn't move for the longest time - no twitching, nothing! so one of us touched its wings ... didn't budge. so, yah, we thought it was fake. but he touched it again - and omg did that thing fly like crazy! yes, i did scream. but in my defense, it seriously looked fake!

agh, i wish i had my camera. i could've taken a picture of that dragonfly that i will probably never see in my life again! i swear it must've eaten its entire family to become that big. but in any case, hopefully i will go there again soon! but in the meantime, all i leave you with is this sad picture-less post :(.

THREE6FIVE [July 6-20].

You must know that in any moment
A decision you make can change the course of your life forever:
The very next line you stand in or flight you take,
The very next phone call you make or receive,
The very next movie you see or book you read or page you turn
Could be the one single thing that causes the floodgates to open,
And all of the things that you've been waiting for to fall into place.

Day oo1. July 6, 2010

there's this thing that i've seen quite a few people take on - Project 365. it's as simple as this: for every single day of the year, you take one photo of anything - people you've met, food you've eaten, places you've been, things you've learned - and it acts like a snapshot of your year, your life's photo album of sorts. and i think it's kind of cool..seeing that i find it hard to remember things from just a few days ago :). so i've decided to try this project out, starting this July the 6th. who knows, maybe i can find a different perspective on this world :). so here it goes!

The Purple Goop.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer,
It sings because it has a song.

well, there was this small little bird peacefully sitting in our backyard. it didn't move an inch when we stepped closer and closer towards it, and when i saw its funny wizard-like grey eyebrows, i had to take a picture of it. after a while, though, it started chirping and singing - all the while standing in the exact same place we found it. then suddenly, it flew away. and what we were left with - hmm, well, it didn't really impress my mom.

yes, it's just bird droppings - but don't you think it looks like some alien's purple goop randomly splattered on the floor? haha, maybe it's just me.

The Boy's 16th.

'Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand.
What you've been up there searching for
Forever is in your hands.
When you figure out love is all that matters after all,
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small.

happy (not 20th) birthday little brother, ahah :). my family and i went to chako's today to celebrate my brother's one and only 16th birthday..since he loves lots of meat..and lots of sushi. and wow, did we [i.e. he] eat a lot. i can't believe we finished all that we ordered! well, here's some pictures i took. yes, i seriously do take my camera everywhere now.

i should've taken more pictures of sushi, but i kept forgetting until most of it was done :D. anyways, doesn't the food look goood? haha, well i'm not a huge fan of eating lots of meat, but i love grilling pineapples there :) ..and grilling food for other people too, haha.

i tried to take a full family picture without asking a passerby to take the picture for us. ..and i half-succeeded! i got everyone in at least :). (ps. any resemblance between my mom and i? i can't quite see it. loll)

after dinner, the sky looked so amazing...

my first moving-car shots! i think they turned out quite well :)

The GO Bus.

We live in a wonderful world
That is full of beauty, charm, and adventure.
There is no end to the adventures we can have
If only we seek them with our eyes open.

[yes, i was bored and decided to do weird things to that picture :)] anyways, i finally rode a GO bus! first time in my life and i totally loved it - there were so little people that took it, which meant that i got as many seats as i wanted all to myself :). although it was quite a bit more expensive than the TTC, i had to use it to get to Mississauga to meet up with some of my friends. and here's a couple of pictures i took along the way..

aren't you all so proud of me for not getting lost? i made it to the Square One Terminal at around 5:00pm, and our movie ended at around 9:00pm - just in time for the sunset! and i must say, the sky in mississauga seems much prettier than in scarborough :\.

i stayed overnight at my friend's house, seeing that i didn't want to bus so much in one day. so, she brought me to sauga's Kariya Park the following day. it's a Japanese-inspired area - a really nice place to be when you just want some peace and quiet :). [ps. no, i don't know what that symbol stands for.. and i wish there weren't tall buildings right behind the park :(]

above is a picture of part of their Spring Roll's restaurant. it is so much nicer than the one in scarborough :(. their ceiling was so cool!
